Director Of Public Relations.

Seattle, WA. Feb. 1998-April 1999.

Department manager, responsible for project and employee management as well as budgets and long-term strategies for both online services and presence and PR.

Public relations responsibilties emphasized managing press release workflow to keep consistent, fresh, and compelling information in place to draw traffic; this strategy yielded a traffic turnaround: 20% monthly traffic growth, 30% monthly revenue growth on the site, up from traffic loss and flat revenues in February of 1998, immediately prior to my appointment.

Accomplishments:

  • Website monthly growth averages of 20% traffic and 30% revenue from summer 1997 to spring 1999
  • Website annual revenue grew from under $1000 in 1997 to over $30,000 in 1999
  • Designed GUIs for record-shattering hit 3-disc DVD set of japanese anime classic Bubblegum Crisis.
  • Executive producer for massively-multiplayer Java-based online strategy role-playing game, Mystic Mayhem.
  • Initiated and managed developer effort consolidating all M-2K customer-contact databases, both online and off, in phase one of strategic marketing initiative.
  • Rapid overhaul of predecessor Multicom site - implemented new identity in 3 days, from revised navigation to logo design and interface design. Mastery of script-based site maintenance including two secure commerce sites.
Multimedia 2000 site

The M-2K website was based on a scripted database architecture developed by Dan Foley. I maintained and extended his system from summer of 1997 until spring 1999. In 1998, I overhauled the entire website, giving it an entirely new look and reworking the navigation. The online shop still features my flattened navigation and better categorization to make it easier to purchase immediately.

I was also the webmaster for Great Chefs Online, a brand partner's website. We were pleased to be able to place them with such a high-profile web parter as Discovery Online.
